Robert "Bob" Lanham, 86, of Cartersburg, passed away surrounded by loving family members. He was born on May 29, 1936 in Bloomington, IL to the late Weldon and Alice Lanham. Bob was a United States Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a manager at Marsh and held various other positions for 37 years before retiring. Bob was a member of the Speedway VFW #1587, Englewood Masonic Lodge #715, Brownsburg American Legion #331 and Mary Queen-Peace Catholic Church. He volunteered at the Cartersburg Fire Department and was the President for 10 years. Bob enjoyed tinkering around the house and bowling in his free time. Bob once owned a Gun shop titled Bob's Bullet Trap. He and Mitzi were snowbirds for 17 years, traveling to Florida in the winter time. Bob was preceded in death by a daughter, Natalie Lanham; sister, Joyce Doty; 2 grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3, 2022 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 10:00 am in the Mary Queen-Peace Catholic Church (1005 W. Main Street, Danville, IN 46122). Friends may call at the church one-hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Center Valley Cemetery. Survivors include his loving wife, Marita "Mitzi" Lanham; sons, David Lanham, James (Theresa) Childers and Brian (Leslie) Kempf; daughters, Cindy Kublnick, Jane (John) Venezia, Patty (Bruce) Hazelgrove and Suelyn (Bruce Jones) Western; sister, Bonnie Day; brother-in-law, Neal Doty; 25 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren with one on the way!
