Ronald F. Homeier, 83, of Plainfield, passed away surrounded by
loving family members on October 29, 2020.""He was born
September 14, 1937 to the late Donald and Sarah (Snyder)
Homeier in Indianapolis, IN.""He was a US Air Force veteran. He
was a devoted and active member of Our Shepherd Lutheran
Church."""He graduated from Howe High School in 1955, and from
Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Mechanical Engineering. He was a mechanical engineer for Link-
Belt and later for IMMI, retiring in 1999.""Ron accumulated 10 seat
belt buckle and conveyor patents in his career. Ron enjoyed
spending time with his friends and family, especially with his
grandchildren who called him “Pop Pop”. Ron loved spending
time on the lake, a passion that is shared by all of his family. One
of his favorite sayings was ‘Does anyone want to go for a boat
ride?’ Ron is survived by two sons, David S. (Peggy) and Daniel
M. (Lydia) Homeier;"a son-in-law, Andy Montgomery; a brother,
David N. (Darlene) Homeier; 10 grandchildren and 2 great
grandchildren.""He was preceded in death by his wife Karen E.
Homeier, daughter Debbie Montgomery, and sister Janet
Kraemer."""Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday,
November 5, 2020 at the"Our Shepherd Lutheran Church,"9201
E. County Road 100 N, Avon, where friends may call at the
church from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am on
Thursday.""Inurnment will be at a later date at Maple Hill
Cemetery, Plainfield.""Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral
Home, Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
Our Shepherd Lutheran Church
