Ronald W. Padgett

Ronald W. Padgett, 78, of Plainfield, IN passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026. He was born on January 20, 1948, in Sullivan, IN and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1966. Whether supporting his daughters’ activities, teaching his grandchild about math and history, sharing the Gospel, or engaging in spirited basketball discussions, he embraced every opportunity to connect with others. Above all, Ron wanted the very best for his family and friends, and his love for them was unwavering.

A devoted member of Plainfield Christian Church for many years, Ron faithfully volunteered in numerous roles and found great joy in serving his church community.

He retired after 30 years with Allison Gas Turbine division of General Motors, where he worked as a Journeyman Electrician and later as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. Never one to slow down, he began a second career in sales and engineering, dedicating another 16 years to Continental Sales & Engineering and Kent Machine.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Connie Padgett (Humphrey); daughters, Kimberly (Eric) White and Lori Padgett; cherished grandchild, Cada White; brother, Gary (Beverly) Padgett; brothers-in-law, Clarence Chiasson, James (Linda) Humphrey; sister-in-law, Carol (Steve) Rauch; along with many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Lois Padgett; his sister, Linda Chiasson; and his in-laws, William and Mary Humphrey.

Ron’s legacy of steadfast love, faith, and work ethic will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m. No graveside service.
