Ronald L. Wooden

Ronald (Ron, Rondo) Wooden, age 63, of Plainfield, left his earthly body on April 1, 2023. The family is deeply saddened but take comfort in knowing Ron now rests in heaven.  Ron was born August 7, 1959 to William and Linda (Stedman) Wooden. Ron had a profound love of nature, music and animals. He had a great sense of humor and loved to trick and tease his sisters. He studied the Bible and had a deep love of God and family.  Survivors include mother Linda Wooden, sisters Dawn (Jim) Boyles and Amber (Steve) Ahlersmeyer; nephews Matt Walkup, Tad (Meg) Ahlersmeyer, Levi (Amanda) Wooden and Mike (Amy) Boyles; nieces Amanda Ahlersmeyer, Amanda Walkup, and Alisha (Scott) Schwenk and several great nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his devoted friend and roommate Dennis Rice and his canine companion Bill. Ron was preceded in death by his father William Wooden, nephew Chris Walkup, and great-nephew Robbie Ahlersmeyer.  A memorial service will take place at Hampton Gentry Funeral Home, 106 Shaw Street, Plainfield, Indiana on Saturday April 8. Visitation from 3:00-4:00 pm with service at 4:00 pm. His final resting place will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, Indiana alongside many loved ones.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis as the people there had an enormous impact on Ron’s life.
