Sherry L. Chittenden

Sherry L. Chittenden, age 76, of Plainfield, passed away on August 11, 2026. She was born on January 19, 1950 in Banner Elk, North Carolina to the late Ernest Lee O'Dell and Mildred Stout. After completing college, Sherry worked as a church secretary and also as a customer representative for Christ Corner Bookstore in Plainfield while raising her children. She was an active member of the Plainfield Christian Church where she enjoyed helping with the Golden Glows, singing in the choir, preparing Sunday communion and helping with Wednesday night meals'. Sherry was an avid sports fan, loved watching various sports on Television, playing board games with her family and always attended different sporting events for her grandchildren. Sherry is preceded in death by a grandson, Jonas Gillum. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 18,2026 at Plainfield Christian Church (800 Dan Jones Rd. Plainfield, IN 46168) starting at 11:30 a.m., calling hours will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of services. Survivors include her former spouse, Thomas Earl Chittenden; sons, Christopher (Linda) Chittenden and Scott (Jill) Chittenden; brother, Jerry (Shelly) O'Dell; her Aunt Leone; several nieces and nephews; 4 grandchildren, Shaylee, Creedance, Harper and Paisley; 7 great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Braelynn, Jamie, Blakely, Jordan, Braxton and Banx.
