Shirley J. Irving

Shirley June Irving of Plainfield, Indiana, age 95, formerly of Toronto, Canada, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024.  She was born August 30, 1928, to the late Dora and Grant Wilson of Toronto, Canada.  Shirley enjoyed hiking with the Indianapolis Hiking Club, travelling, playing bridge and golfing with friends.  She also enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her friends and family.  Shirley was a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker.  Shirley was the wife of the late Richard Irving and the late Joseph Plunkett.  She was predeceased by her daughter Anne McGraw.  Survivors include three sons: Paul (Barb) Plunkett, Dave Plunkett (Ingrid Bey), Tim (Susan) Plunkett, and son-in-law Chris McGraw.  Grandchildren include Erin, Holly, Pamela, Tom, Joey, and John.  Shirley was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 1:00 p.m. at St. Susanna Catholic Church in Plainfield, Indiana.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in remembrance of Shirley to the Hendricks County Humane Society (https://www.hendrickshumane.org)
