Shirley Nelson

Shirley Nelson, 95, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025.  She was born on July 28, 1930 to the late Cole and Mary Winnett.  Shirley was a dedicated homemaker and worked for Link Belt retiring in 1982.  She was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church.  Shirley loved spending time with her family.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Nelson; brother, Richard Winnett-Kenton; step son, Bruce Nelson.  Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 1:00 pm.  Entombment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Long; son, Mike (Lisa) Skillman; step son, Brian Nelson; 9 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
