Shirley A. Washburn

Shirley A. Washburn, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 9, 2020.  She was born on April 22, 1936 in Fairbanks, IN to the late Wilbur and Mary Phillips.  Shirley was a medical coder at Methodist Hospital for 35 years retiring in 1993.  She then worked for H.C. Senior Services as a caregiver for 11 years retiring in 2017.  Shirley was a member of the Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed playing euchre in her free time.  Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Washburn; brother, William Phillips; sister, Leah Pennington.  Funeral services will be Thursday, February, 13, 2020 at 2:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 12:00 (noon) until time of service.  Burial will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery.  Survivors include her brothers, John (Bibiana) and Don Phillips; sister, Ellen (Dennis) Eckert; several nieces and nephews.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Center Community Church (5938 Sugar Grove Rd, Plainfield, IN 46168).
