Susan Poland

Susan A. Poland, age 66, of Plainfield, passed away in the early morning hours of June 27, 2026. She was born on July 12, 1959 in Danville, Indiana to the late David Cooper and Barbara (Mantooth) Cooper. Susan was a dedicated stay at home mom that volunteered at all of the girls school activities and later worked as an office administrator in the medical field for many years. She was a former member of the Hazelwood Christian Church and a current member of the Plainfield Christian Church. Her grandchildren were her entire world, as she almost never missed any sporting event or academic accomplishment for her 5 grandchildren. If she missed one grandchild's event...it was because she was attending another for a different grandchild. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, David and Barbara Cooper. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home beginning at 6:00 pm, where family and friends may visit from 4:00 pm until time of services. Survivors include her daughters, Stephanie (Nick) Welte and Donna Hutchison; sister, Denise Cottongim; 5 grandchildren, Emma Hutchison, Mattingly Hutchison, Kayla Welte, Easton Hutchison and Cooper Welte.
