Thomas Buis

Thomas Buis, 91, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026 surrounded by loving family members. He was born on July 4, 1934 in Indianapolis to the late Burl and Mary Buis. Tom was a United States Army veteran, Sargent First Class 82nd Airborne . He was an Indiana Purple Heart Recipient. He was the owner of Tom Buis Construction and RPS Printing Service. Tom enjoyed bowling and doing yard work in his free time. He loved Indiana sports and racing and spending time with his family. Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Buis; sister, Beverly Spears; daughter-in-law, Cari Buis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Entombment will follow with military honors in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his children, Michael (Denise) Buis, Mitzi (Chuck) Ridenour, Martin (Katherine) Buis and Matthew Buis; sister, Bonnie Pickett; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
