Valerie Whitecap

Valerie Whitecap, 74, of Plainfield, passed away on March 17, 2024.  She was born on August 23, 1949 in Butler, PA to the late Kendall and Vivian Goff.  Valerie was a Teacher for Upper St. Clair Middle School, Carlow University and a Professor for the University Of Pittsburgh.  She enjoyed crochet, travel and volunteer work.  Valerie loved spending time with her family.  She belonged to the Plainfield Christian Church and the National Communication Association as a published author.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at McMurray Funeral Home (2828 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317).  Visitation will be Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McMuray Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, PA.  Survivors include her children, Amy (Bryan) Western and Brad (Krystal) Whitecap; brother, Jim (Connie) Goff; grandchildren, Madeline, C.J., Evander and Titus.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association https://act.alz.org
