Virginia P. Jones

Virginia P. Lawson Roach Jones, 96, of Plainfield, formerly of Spencer, passed away August 7, 2020. She was born June 20, 1924 to the late Henry V. and Ruth H. (Russel) Lawson  in Canton, OH.  She retired from J.C. Penney, #1349 Lafayette Square, as a furniture sales clerk.  She was a member of the Hendricks County Gideon’s Auxiliary, Plainfield Eastern Star #414, Mooresville Eastern Star #260, and a member of the Center Community Church, Plainfield.  Virginia is survived by her daughter, Phyllis (Tom) Clark; son, Donald (Kathy) Roach; granddaughters, Michele Patton, Cindy Lockridge, Kimberlee (Jim) Mourer, and Rachel (Dan) Weddle; grandsons, Joseph, Anthony and Isaiah Roach; and 7 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, W Fred Jones, a son, Carl Roach , and two grandsons.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 12:00 noon on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.   Funeral services will be private.  Entombment will be in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hendricks County Gideon Auxiliary or Center Community Church.  Condolences may be sent to www.hamptongentry.com
