Walter R. Miller

Walter R. Miller, 93, of Danville, passed away August 25,2019.  He was born October 3, 1925 to the late Walter S. and Willie (Rutledge) Miller in Jones, OK.  In his youth he had the distinction of becoming an Eagle Scout.  He was a US Navy and Marine Corps veteran of WWII.  In Oklahoma he worked as a wholesale salesman for the Borden Dairy Co., specializing in ice cream sales,  for 20 years retiring in 1980.  He was a member of the Plainfield Church of Christ and the American Legion.  Walter is survived by his wife, Norma P. (Haley) Miller; three sons, Randall L. (Nancy), Paul Douglas (Deena) and John S. (Diane) Miller; a brother, Bruce Miller; 5 grandchildren, Haley (Mark) Nirrengarten, Bryan (Anna) Miller, Matthew (Kellie) Miller; Megan (Matt) Mills, and Maranda (Cameron) Creamer; and 7 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Lloyd and Floyd Miller.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2019 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, August 30 in the funeral Home.  Burial, with military honors will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
