William P. McCown

William Paul McCown, of Plainfield, formerly of Stilesville,  was born January 13, 1950 to the late, William McCown and Betty (Grounds)McCown. He passed from this life June 22, 2020. He was born in Martinsville, Indiana. He went to grade school in Martinsville and graduated from high school there
He joined the National Guard after high school and served his country.  He met and married love of his life. Phyllis Morris from Iowa. They were married March 18, 1978. To this union no children were born.  William (Billy) farmed with his father and then had multiple jobs as a security guard. These included Catepillar, John Deere, and lastly Ford.  William (Billy) is survived by his wife Phyllis of 42 years; his brother Barry (Julie) McCown; two nieces, Delaney and Aiden McCown; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 26, 2020 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 27 in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Stilesville Cemetery.
